Synopsis & Lyrics Reference:
[SHINEE STATION]
— An eerie compilation of some group shots of Lee Soo Man posing together with all the artists under SM Entertainment or what he “affectionately” calls as SMTOWN since the earlier days —
Lee Soo Man: “Ohana means family, and family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten.”
— While guesting on Lee Young Ji’s variety show, “My Alcohol Diary”, Key matter-of-factly calls himself a contract worker to the surprise of Young Ji —
— Drifting into the parallel reality of Key working as an office employee and getting dumped with a heavy load of work by his boss on the second day of the week but he approaches it with a smile and steadfast attitude —
— Back to Young Ji’s show, Key frankly admits that it is a lie to say that the company is a family; rather they are more of a corporate superior-subordinate or co-workers/colleagues kind of assisting relationship —
— Connecting to another incident at Key’s solo concert “G.O.A.T (Greatest Of All Time) In The Keyland” in Seoul, when Key was asking the audience whether anybody had come to watch his concert with their family, he was surprised to see Taeyeon and Minho who were sitting at the company section with some of other staff and executives from SM Entertainment (notably one of them was Lee Sung Soo, the former SM co-CEO who could be seen seated 2 seats away from Taeyeon), raising their hands too and asked why they did so. When they signalled to him that they are his family too, Key coldly said that the company is not family, telling them to get a grip. —
*awkward laughter*
— Lightening the atmosphere, Key added, “I love my company.” —
— Back in the parallel reality, at mid-week Key is busily scrambling to finish all his insane tons of work till he is eventually burnt out —
— On the variety show “I Live Alone” (2023 series) that takes a peek into an artist’s daily life, Key is seen dead beat falling asleep on the car shuttling him back home after an exhausting 48 long hours of music video filming without sleep. As Key finally settles down at home with some quiet time to spend with his dogs and enjoy the food that he has been craving for a long time, he reveals feelings of achievement yet emptiness and despondence at the same time. Feeling down, he asks one of his dogs, Commes Des if it could say a word of encouragement to him —
I’m good, I’m great
I work, get paid
Thank God all day
I love it, I’m epic
All day, a dozen times and more
Repeat the magic words
Okay, doing good
I’m pulling throughI’m good, I’m great
Because I’m grateful
I’m good, I’m great
Because I’m gratefulWake up in the morning, mission-ready
When I see myself sleepy in the mirror
Man, coffee’s the only reason I function
Hurry, hit the road and get bussin’
The world is an irregular puzzle
One wrong step, you’re lost in this jungle
Can I be saved by the bell today?
It’s a whole new vibe, again, I shout outDays whеn you wanna let go of it all
There arе more than a few, oh, do I know?
I wanted this so bad
Chose this path, but don’t mean it’s easyI’m good, I’m great
I work, get paid
Thank God all day
I love it, I’m epic
All day, a dozen times and more
Repeat the magic words
Okay, doing good
I am confident in myselfI’m good, I’m great
Because I’m grateful
I’m good, I’m great
Because I’m grateful— In the parallel reality, Key is going about his day as usual at the office until something seems to awaken him and he feels something amiss. Rushing back to his desk, he takes a closer look at his calendar and realises that every page on the calendar is listed as Friday. Feeling fooled by the company that it’s never gonna be weekend that he has been looking forward to, he looks like he’s about to be driven crazy. —
— Lightening the atmosphere, Key added, “I love my company.” —
— End of Episode 3 (to be continued) —
