Recently, I began a series of small-scale fruit puns cards ever since I started with ART FOR THE SOUL: HAPPEA 3 PEAS-IN-A-POD, which were first inspired from the book “WhatAMelon: Comforting Pick-you-ups for Epic Fails” I borrowed from the library this March. Naturally, I grew fond of making a range of artworks with inspirations from fruits and vegetables, including this Mother’s Day card about avocado!
Doesn’t a half-cut avocado with a big round seed near its bottom look like a mother who is pregnant with a baby?? Hehe.
After the avocado mum gave birth to her child, the seed left her tummy, leaving an empty hole behind. Now her seed child filled with love and gratitude, would like to thank her avocado mum for enduring all the hardships before bringing her to life in this world during the 9 months of pregnancy this Mother’s Day! 😍
Coincidentally, this avocado mum idea would also serve as a nice follow-up to the very first Mother’s Day card that I made for Taenggu mum in 2017!

So this Mother’s Day, I made this avocado mum card from Taenggu’s point of view, instead of my own this time. More photos of my card below! 📸
Besides Taenggu mum, I also made similar cards for my own mother and for sale on Carousell too! Every Mother’s Day is a great time for us children to express our love, appreciation and gratitude towards our mothers for being our pillars of strength and support all the time, and even for the 9 months of pain and discomfort they had to endure throughout the process of bearing us on their tummies!
