The idea of this monthsary drawing was inspired by a vision I had of Taenggu earlier that same month. I’ve shared the story here at TAENGGU IN MY MIND: BETTY BOOP TAENG. I associated her hairstyle to that of Betty Boop, a famous female cartoon character in the 1930s.
To make the idea of Betty Boop Taeng come alive, I merged both images of Taenggu and Betty Boop into a single drawing.
The result was a cheeky, playful face of Taenggu in the body of Betty Boop. 😆 It was done in a caricature style (large face, small body).
After I posted my drawing and shared my story about having a vision of Betty Boop as a visual representation of Taenggu’s hairstyle in real life on instagram, I noticed Taenggu began tying her hair in similar buns more often and sharing more photos of herself in that hairstyle on her own instagram.
I felt like the action of her sporting the same Betty Boop hairstyle more often was a sign that she liked my story and the idea of Betty Boop Taeng very much. In contrary to my previous monthsary drawing #30 MONTHSARY: PINK DOT GIRL, I guess she liked this one more! Kekeke. 😘
