After #26 MONTHSARY: OUR NEVER-ENDING FAIRYTALE STORY, I made a change in the concept of my monthsary drawings. For the first time, rather than disguising Taenggu and myself in the form of Bobo and Shadow Man, I wanted to draw the real Taenggu in her physical form. I wanted to draw a portrait of her in real life, something I didn’t do often ironically prior to 2017 despite loving her so much. It was in line with the change in my mindset during that period of time to express my love towards her more openly, instead of hiding it.
To do this, I went about choosing a favourite recent photo of Taenggu that I had saved in my phone. The following was my favourite one from her photoshoot in Spain in December 2016.
I imagined that I could add in some fun elements to her photo by putting a flower in her coffee mug using paper cuts. In real life, I wished I could surprise her with a flower by popping one out from her coffee by magic too!
So I proceeded to draw a portrait of her based on the above reference photo and added some small coloured paper cuts to form a stalk of flower sticking out from her coffee. On top of that, I coloured Taenggu’s body in stripes of rainbow colours using colour markers. I guess the reason was pretty straightforward. I wanted to say that the rainbow bunny featured in all my previous monthsary drawings all those while was actually Taenggu all along! (related post: EVERYDAY RAINBOW)

In anticipation of this upcoming post, since the topic is related to coffee, I just made a coffee special instagram post earlier today. It was a compilation of coffee-related photos which Taenggu and I had shared on social media over the years. Actually there are lots more but these are the best 10 I have chosen (click right to browse through the photos ☺️).
I guess drinking coffee is one of our common interests we both share too! Whenever I go to a cafe and drink coffee, I wish Taenggu can enjoy the same coffee with me too. Would it possible that when I take a sip of my coffee, Taenggu could taste the same thing in her tastebuds too? 😋

Anyway, the concept of a flower in Taenggu’s coffee in my drawing reminds me of the rose latte I recently had during cafe-hopping in Shanghai last month (related post: [COMPLETED] MONTHSARY SPECIAL: THE THIRTY-THIRD). I loved that taste of flower scent in my coffee so much! If I can’t make a flower appear in her coffee by magic in real life, then I will make do with a rose latte. Haha. 😆
I would like to end off this post with an interesting sign of synchronicity that happened on the morning of our 27th monthsary. That morning, I revealed my drawing on instagram to celebrate the special day.
Right after that, I happened to see the following photo posted by Tiffany on her instastory.
I thought the quote she shared in her photo fitted my drawing so amazingly well!
Yup, there are always flowers somewhere, even at unexpected places (like your coffee cup), visible or not, just waiting for you to pick them up and smell their scent. 😌💜🌺🌻🌹🌷🌼🌸💐
